Hosting morning shows from 9am until 1pm on Mondays and Wednesdays.
A Mary Valley resident, John is keen on outdoor activities and hosts "Enduring Sounds", Our locally produced Classical Music program.
Born in England, He trained as a school teacher before migrating to Australia in 1968.
He Taught in various places around Queensland from 1968 until retiring in 1998.
For more than 12 years he has been helping at Cooloola Christian Radio and he also Volunteers as a computer assistant at a local school.
He has one grownup daughter and is involved in the local Uniting Church.
Taking the chair at 9 o'clock Col packs a lot into your Tuesday mornings. He has a great sense of fun and an eye for the quirky and interesting. Always quick with a joke, (check out his joke page and laugh.)
Col fills your morning with Quizzes, Trivia, Birthdays, On this Day, Australian and World History Facts as well as his own brand of Country Music facts, News and Interviews.
Tuesday Morning also includes great teaching from Ravi Zacharias, Focus on the Family and "Light and Life", The Salvation Army's weekly radio program. Fun and informative with great music and interesting news and reviews.
Col always leaves you with an inspirational thought and up to date with the latest news and weather.
He loves nothing better than popping in a special song to get your toes tapping especially a yodelling banjo song during the Country and Bluegrass half hour from 11:30 to Noon so send in your requests.
Col attends the Weslyan Church Gympie. He loves singing and playing. He sings regularly at the ACIM Open Mic Nights, as well as a few concerts around town. He also does some Happy Hours at some of Gympie's Villas as well as entertaining at the tea gardens. He has even been known to do some busking outside a local music shop. I love reading Biographies and Mysteries. I enjoy crosswords and LOVE Radio.
I met my husband, Neil, at Millmerran Presbyterian Church where his parents had a property growing grain and Poll Herefords. My dad was a mechanic in Millmerran.
After we had our son, We moved to Armidale, NSW for 17½ years to a cattle sheep and irrigation farm. That's where our daughter was born.
Our daughter now has 3 daughters of her own and lives elsewhere. Our son lives and works locally in Gympie.
We returned to Qld for health reasons and bought at Lower Wonga, about 500 acres with a mixed Droughtmaster Brahman herd. We have been back in this area for 29 years now and I still love the country with all the beautiful trees, mountains and scenery.
I worship at the Wesleyan Methodist at Amamoor and love to encourage people in the Lord.
I became involved in CCR in the first year of going to air. I have seen many changes and improvements since that time and with the Lords help this "grandma' has managed to survive the challenges. I have met and been blessed by many CCR volunteers over the years.
I am married to Mike and we have two daughters and multiple grandchildren. What a joy!
I spent my working life as a physiotherapist and a few years as a day care mum and a toy librarian when my own children were very young.
I am involved with the Anglican Church here in Gympie. I enjoy reading, Gardening, Knitting, Quilting and minding grandchildren.
I was born in Welshpool, Wales and lived in England until I emigrated at age 25, I had two children in England and another two in Australia.
I worked in Hospital Pharmacy in England and then in Brisbane. After that I worked for 23 years at Gympie Special School as a teacher's aide.
Now retired from paid work I am busier than ever with Cooloola Christian Radio, R.E, Craft, Church activities and Grandchildren!
I have enjoyed living in Gympie since 1980.
Jan hails from the beautiful Cootharaba region and brings a wealth of experience in children's work to her Sunday Morning Kid's Happy hour.
Her shift is packed with Riddles, Stories and great kid's music like Colin Buchanan and the Wagga Wagga Lutheran Children's Choir.
She presents the ever popular kids program "Adventures in Odyssey" and Bible Adventures.
The rest of her pre-church time is full of top praise and worship music and lots to think about. The wisdom from experience and a deep committed walk with Christ is freely shared through her stories and thought provoking sayings and anecdotes.
